Discouraged or disappointed with your relationship?

Rachel Engels, LMFT

Couples therapy in Los Angeles, Burbank, and throughout California

You wanted partnership, but instead there’s loneliness.  For two people who know each other so well, it’s amazing how difficult it feels to connect.

You want closeness, and the chance to process things together, but your partner wants space.   It’s so hard knowing how to address the now-familiar dysfunctional patterns and find for ways to improve the relationship without feeling like a constant nag.

You feel chronically disappointed, and yet you know your partner isn’t getting the best of you, either.  You’re tired of feeling so critical and resentful.

You both wanted a better relationship than what was modeled for you growing up.  But sometimes you wonder if you chose the right person at all, or if you can possibly make it work.  You want to believe there’s still  hope, but everything you’ve tried so far hasn’t worked.  You’re ready to stop feeling miserable together and figure out what it takes to move forward.

You need tools that will move you past the frustration and into genuine connection.

I help couples rebuild a satisfying and meaningful relationship by learning how to overcome dysfunctional patterns of communication and grow an authentic, united sense of team.   I help both you and your partner understand the unique triggers that set off your arguments and misunderstandings, so you can cut through the noise and confusion and start feeling known and understood by one another.

I’ll help you work through old pain in the relationship (including the hidden sources of pain you brought in from the beginning), and teach you how to find places of connection, agreement, productive problem-solving, and mutual appreciation.

Instead of merely coexisting together, you’ll learn what both you and your partner can do to start feeling genuinely united, and build the satisfying life together that you envisioned.   You don’t need to be different people to succeed and flourish together; you just need different tools.  Couples are often shocked at what a difference just a few sessions can make.

It’s not too late to make it work.

None of us are perfect people.  But it is absolutely possible to build a thriving, fulfilling, and deeply meaningful connection with someone else, even in situations that have been rocky in the past.

If you’re ready to change the course of your relationship for the better, contact me for your FREE 15-minute phone consultation and we’ll talk about how to get you back to the joyful, connected life together you’ve both been missing.
